“Yeah, but you can just take the glasses off” is an argument often thrown around when discussing AR technology. Is it really that easy?
The ability to change the reality of everyday life will be extremely intrusive. Even as a non-participant your world will change forever. If strangers have the power to undress you, change your appearance or even erase you, we will have serious problems.
Seeing is believing, if anything is an exploration into the technology and effects of the future. The point of the project is that the technology to alter our reality already exists, we’re only waiting on adaptation of AR glasses.
Reality check
If a student is able to code reality altering live feeds in a week with Chat GPT what can professionals with a budget achieve?
Tech
The project uses a Raspbery Pi 4 with a Google Coral running a python script with a webcam.
Behind the Scenes
This is one of my first tech projects were I really started to try to bring some art direction into the execution. I'm getting very excited about it slowly. Still a long way to go from where I would like to be.
